About

Founded in 1998, the Department of of Applied Chemistry(Bachelor program) - National Chi Nan University.
the Master’s and Doctorate Programs were established in 2001 and 2003, respectively.In 2011, the department was further enlarged with the Master's Program of Biomedicine and Biomedical Technology.
We cultivate students to become excellent professionals, which in turn promotes the internationalization of academic research in Taiwan.
Chemistry is a fundamental discipline and an applied science closely related to daily life, covering various fields such as food, biochemistry, medical care, dyes, petrochemicals, catalysts, materials, environmental protection, batteries, and semiconductor manufacturing processes. As a result, experts in applied chemistry play an important role in the country’s economy.
This department aims to cultivate students to put into practice their knowledge of chemistry in the direction of development in industry and for this department. According to the needs of the country’s industry and the worldwide trend of development in chemistry, the three major directions: biotechnology, materials chemistry, and analytical chemistry, are input in the planning for the department.

The Department currently employs 15 full-time teachers.
